A mothers love

I have worked with Kristina and Julliet before, but always as individuals. When Kristina contacted me wanting some shots of them together, I jumped at the chance to see them again.

a 15 min shoot, and a 2 hour swim later, we got these gorgeous images. Simple, touching and raw. I love them

Thanks guys, good company and awesome to shoot, you both rock.

feathers, bubble’s and a totally fabulous afternoon!

Sometimes as a photographer, you need to take a little time out to do things for yourself. Today was that sort of shoot. Charne and I have known each other since the August workshop , and we decided to get together for a fun shoot , to add to her portfolio.

Here is a sneak peek at todays shoot, we are still going , it is 5.30 pm, waiting for the sun to set and will then be doing some outdoor shots! I have had a very creatively nurturing day!

Photo of the day …are we there yet??

This monthly photo a day challenge thing is getting a little old. I  am however , determined to see it through !

I like a challenge by nature, in fact I LOVE a challenge. What I  do not love , is”  having ” to do anything . That is why I consider myself unemployable !  I’d just say no often  :)

…..so in retrospect , it was a little odd for me to chose to do this. Between my paid shoots and teaching shoots, sometimes I do not want to pick up the camera at the end of the day!

On a bright note, it has actually taught me a lot. Everyday life can be pretty interesting when captured on camera. Even mundane things, like loosing a tooth, can seem a little more romantic than they really are:)

Still, I’ll never leave my love of creating a great image, staging and lighting it to work it well. That is just who I am , I love a little drama:)

4 days to go…………..

Todays photo a day is Blake ( again? I do have more children, they are just never home!)   He started school today, and when eating lunch, also lost his first tooth! Cute cute cute , soon he will be all sorts of toothless and lucky for him I find that totally adorable!

new year, new school , and a child full of hope

We have anguished over schooling this year. I am SO fussy when it comes to those who help me raise my children. When we moved, we left behind a delightful little private school, with good etho’s and values, etc.

When we moved, I also moved to an area with lots of great schools, the trouble is, they have 8 year wait lists ( can you believe it?)

Anyway, we have eventually ( luckily! One child left to go to Japan, we arrived to view the school, and she offered us his place!) found our perfect school This school is little, 60 kids total, 7 acres of land, vege gardens, pets, and a fabulous individual child policy.

…..the not so fabulous….look at these shoes!!!, hmm I’ll take another picture in 6 weeks, I am thinking GREY is the colour they will be:)

Yipppee for serendipity, yippee for small schools, and yippeee for Blakey being happy as a pig in mud!

afternoon wind down , after a huge few days

This week, my little boy was sick, and it rocked me ! We had to take him to the doctor,  the doctor was worried. he took me aside to talk to me . Do you know what it feels like when your Doctor says, ” I am concerned about your son”? It was sickening!

We had to wait 6 hours for his tests, luckily for us, he is ok. I have spent the last day,  half in the shoe ( yes just one) of women who have a sick child. I feel so weak, how do they do it? I want to shoulder some of their burden today, god knows how hard their life must be!

In my new home, I love to go down to our dock late in the afternoon, my work is done and I and watch the amazing sunsets , with a nice glass of Sav blanc.

My peace today as disrupted by two rascals ! Frankie the Pug, and Blakey .

Mark was on hand to snap some shots of me and Blake, and the rest are my pictures of the day for the last 4 days ( i really did not excell at this challenge !)

Happy Australia day everyone, hug your kids, live large and remember to smile a LOT!
