I had a very rare day off today, and  It was so lovely I just don’t want it to end!!

After an amazing sleep in, Jade and I went scouting a location this morning, then shopping. After some retail therapy, we hit the sushi train. Mark collected Blake early from school, and met us there, he also bought me perfume….( can you see this is a great day already!?)

When we got home we all headed out for an afternoon at the beach. Blake loves it when his big brother and siter come along with us . As for little Frankie, his days as the lone dog in our house are numbered. He quite likes being the prince of the house too…poor thing.

This is why I live where I do, this is why I work so hard!

These moments mean more than anything else to me. If I could live one day over like ground hog day…..let it be today!

I love my family so much! I am one lucky lady to be so surrounded by love!

My son had a little rough start to his first dog. Firstly, we are very experienced dog owners, 20 odd years of dog ownership. We do odedience and trailing with our dogs, they are family pets and part of our lives.

We had a rotteiler for 2 years, which Blake LOVED more than life itself. Unfortunately, he was always a very dominant dog, challenging to raise and very head strong. After LOTS of training socializing and love, he was aggressive to a child and a friend of our teen’s. He unfortuantely had to be sent back to his breeder to find him a home with no children. It was a devestating time for us all. It has taken us 8 months to get over him and the way it all ended.

Now for 8 months Blake has been sad, he didn’t understand what happened. A few months ago, he told us he needed a friend, a best friend ‘ like Delgado”. I had NO idea who Delgado was, but apparently he is a german Shepherd, and he was going to be Blake’s new love. I went through breed pages with Blake, making sure the Shepherd ( my favorite dog) was what he really wanted. He would have nothing less.

This begun our 8 week research into German Shepherds in QLD, and we found Mike, from Pallendon breeders . The most amazing, sound, gentle, strong , yet calm, dog you’ll ever meet. He has won us over in so many ways. 

Mike was a daddy to a recent litter, Delgado is his son.

Delgado is 6 weeks old , and comes home in 10 days!! Blake is marking it off on a  calender on the fridge , big red marker through each day!

This dog will be loved, and welcomed , our home feels empty with a big dog around!

It’s going to be a VERY long 10 days for Blake!!

Where is the fairness in life, when a pregnant woman looks 10 times better than you do, and you are not even having a baby?!

Simply gorgeous, this loving couple were amazing!!

What good genes they have, I can not wait to see their little baby!!!

Now …….I am an organised person by nature. I love orgainisng things, big or small, I don’t know why,  I just like the job. All the little details of something like this…are right up my alley!!

 However when BIG things go wrong, it can be really stressful for me, as I do it alone!  I love hosting big events, but as you can imagine, with 60 odd students flying in from around the world, and 3 extrodinary teachers with their families flying in, the logistics of pleasing everyone is a nitemare at times.

So when on monday I got the sheepish call from our booking agent to inform me that the mansion we were hosting for the SOLD OUT inspire me 2010 at was indeed now SOLD, and that the owners were not honouring any bookings!  I was shell shocked. Not only was it our big workshop affected , they also cancelled out on  40 weddings booked there from now till June. You can imagine there are some mighty pissed off soon to be brides out there right now scouring places to go!

 8 bedroom mansions, enough bedding to sleep 14 , 5 star, right on the water with enough space to host a workshop are a dime a dozen right? ( sarcasm dripping here) I have spent the last week looking through 15 not suitable houses, some not big enough, some not glamourous enough , too far away, wrong location, etc

 I was reaching the end of the list !!

The I found it, our replacement home for the workshop. It is on Sovereign Island, an exclusive Island estate, It was only 15 mins out of central Surfers paradise. We have good neighbours too The house next door the workshop house is selling for 20 million dollars ( you have to see it to believe it!) The surrounds are beautiful .

In any case, this home was perfect for us ( *students) for the workshop. As it is a little further away from central surfers paradise than the last house, and further from shops ( so pack all your chocolate!)  , also taxi fares would be slightly more , so to counter balance that we will be running a shuttle to and from Surfers paradise at the beginning ( morning of the first day)  and the end ( pm of the final day)  of each workshop ** please see facebook group for details of where and when the bus picks you up ** !

The new house has a glass lift that goes up through the pool area and to the 4 levels of the home , it is quite something to behold!! Fire place in a gorgeous big lounge, wifi for us net junkies, and underground parking !! We also have 7 bedrooms all with their own bathrooms , some shared sleeping ( seperate beds) and  some rooms you can sleep alone. It is just gorgeous, we saw dolphins in the water when viewing it !

So I am now breathing again knowing we can put on an amazing event with all the trimmings which I love to do.

All students of this workshop PLEASE note the change of address for the venue which will be announced on the facebook group also.

It also has incredible ocean and high rise views, however no photos of them for now!

4 weeks old and just a delight. She snoozed all session for us!

Baby Savannah and her big beautiful sister Layla were an absolute delight to photograph.

Chubby cheeks, sleepy and full she was the perfect newborn baby!

Thank you guys for coming to see us, it was a rainy old day, and I appreciated the fact you had a bit of a drive to get to us!

 Sigh..I love my job!

I had a little making up to do with this family after messing them about a little with a previous shoot!

Today we did some in studio shots, and also snuck down to the lane while the clouds held off for a while!!

A “nearly” rained out session today ( from a previously rained out session last week!) , turned into a beautiful beach shoot, with two mischevious cheeky boys and their happy loving parents.

We are getting re married in April, celebrating with 10 days in Thailand accompanied by 35 of our closest friends and family. We are there to celebrate 20 years of marriage, and my 40th birthday! What a huge night !

We are enlising the help of some Fabulous wedding photographers to capture the day, yes they are coming to Thailand to shoot our day with us

So yesterday saw us meeting with Matt and Katie ( check out their work, simply divine! http://mattandkatieblog.com.au/) to organise our shots.

…Yesterday  I also had a lovely LONG lunch with Jemma and her baby Belle. Jemma is another photographer on the gold coast, we chatted work , discussed life and had some wine, perfect afternoon!

I couldn’t resist snaping some shots of Belle, what a picture perfect baby she is huh?

Katie ( from www.whatkatiedoes.com.au) designed them for me using the things that define me, my style. I am in love with Asia, the culture and the way of life, in particulary Thailand. My house is very much inspired by that peaceful serene enviroment, reds, dark wood, brown shades, and asian art.

I totally feel this new logo speaks to me, it feels like it fits me, and I LOVE it

My new tag line is ” you are beautiful”

When Katie asked me what I wanted to say about my work , or to my clients, this phrase kept coming up time and time again.

It is all I want every single client to know and to feel,  that they are unique and beautiful, and to have trust in me that I will show that to them in their images

I hope you all enjoy the new look as much as I do!!

I had a very fun session today down at the beach.

I very much appreciate it when  clients adhear to my requests and shoot at the horrible time of day ( for them) , but the delightful time of day ( for me)

Photography really is all about chasing the light. Knowing what is good light, when to use the gorgeous light nature gave us, and when to use artifical light to enhance that.

We didn’t use any flash on this shoot, just the sand as a reflector, the water as a backdrop, and the sunset light .

..having said that, how could we go wrong with this little family? Seriously good genes huh?

Could this little chick get any cuter? Oh my goodness she was edible!

Easy to shoot, fun to be around, I say it all the time, but I LOVE my job!

I don’t usually do weddings, my week days are usually so full, that my week ends are special to me, and my family time.

However sometimes I do shoot weddings , and usually it is for my special clients or friends.

We had a wonderful afternoon shooting Jess and Nicks wedding. I will let the images speak for themselves.

We had a mini workshop this Sunday teaching off camera flash , light post processing and posing.

It was such a great day. Gorgeous weather, beautiful models, and people excited to learn.

I LOVE teaching, I get such a kick out of people having light bulb moments – more of these workshops to come in the future. Please express interest in being sent dates and time via email.
