It is the last day of winter today, and I must say I am looking forward to summer!

I had the most delightful photoshoot today at the beach. Trish and her kids, so entertaining and easy to work with, it was an absolute pleasure to photograph them .

Th skies looked dangerously close to storm clouds on our way down, but upon arrival the afternoon sky was amazing !

I wondered why little Miss sienna was so awake the other day. My theroy is , there is a day, between 2 and 3 weeks of age, when babies realise they are in another world. This day is random , but they spend it awake , calm looking around and then after that day, they just seem less newborn and more aware.

This is my “theory” hehe

I was determined to get Sienna parents some more sleepy shots. I have never had a baby beat me, and I wasn’t going to let Sienna be the first

I pulled out ever trick I know, and today she was out like a light ( after a ton of coaxing mind you!)

I am happy now, I have all th shots I wanted. I also feel accomplished in my challenge to get a stubborn little Miss , to a sleepy pile of baby goodness.

It was drama central here this week when our little pug boy was STOLEN! Microchippd with tags, he went for a little walk about ( he is getting desxed this week , due to his walks!) and never came home.

We called the pounds, vets, and rescue centers, we delivered flyers and door knocked. It took a good samaritan who was walking his dog and saw someone locking a pug in a tennis court to call us ( through the flyer ) . He rang us with all the information, wanted no reward , just for us to get out dog home safely!
We were able to go and get Frankie (thanks to my two big burly men who went to door knock) . It was amazing and reaffirmed my faith in humanity .

Well now frankie is home, but being a little wild by wondering off ( see comment re desexing ) so when he goes off leash, he is tied to the good dog Delgado. Delgado comes to you with one short whistle, he runs flat stick to you . No matter if there are dogs , people or food, one whistle he is there! So frankie is learning the ropes through the 7 month old puppy!

Here are my boys, I adore my time with them. It is my de stress time and also a time to catch up with my kids and or hubby.

I had the pleasure of meeting this lovely man at the Brisbane Psychic convention. I was thrilled when he rang to ask for some new headshots for his Psychic readings.

I took him to the beach for an earthy feel, and used the amazing sun to give his images a slightly ethereal quality .

This is what Sienna seemed to be saying today. Calm and content and WIDE awakeWe had a fight today to get her to nod off, she was not at all fussy, but she sure was stubborn !

Gorgeous mum and dad were very patient as we tried all the tricks we know . I think today was the day Sienna realised , there is a great big world around her.

A long 2 and a half hour shoot , and we were all more tired than Sienna

Completely beautiful baby, lovely parents, photographing newborns never really seems like work, I always say I have the best job in the world !

I felt a kindred spirit with this family. They had a big gap between their children!

I could feel the special bond that these amazing kids had with Christine, and it reminded me of my own family.

This was Christines photoshoot, for her first birthday ! Petite and girly she was so adorable.

I like to challenge myself with lighting , and the art of balancing flash with the surrounding light . Keeping flash power light and keeping the flame light realistic is actually quite hard !
I knew this when I booked this shoot. So to cover my bases , I started off at 5 pm with some easy, easy, nice light shots, then started shooting the hard stuff around the fire once the sun went down.

I was going for an “end of summer” type feel, I think I almost (70% ) mastered it. I learnt a lot, had a ton of fun, and spent time with some amazing new clients.

Little Miss Daisy , came to this world in a BIG rush. Born on June 8th, she is only just out of hospital now. Having a rough little start to life, Daisy is a beautiful miracle for her gorgeous mummy!

9 weeks old, smiley and all grown up but still such a newborn. We got some great images today without having to put any stess on the little love. She was so easy to work with, drifting in and out of sleep for us. ( thank goodness for the boob! I think daisy is making up for lost time with her mummy in that depatment

I love my clients, I know I say it a lot but seriously I do!

I turn up to shoots lately, meeting new clients ,who I have not photographed before, yet they have put so much thought into their outfits, location choices, and then say to me ‘ do whatever you like” hehe !

This lively , fun , happy family of 6 was no exception. A real mixture of personalities , they kept me on my toes!
